Only three months into my new job as Director of the Montana Historical Society, I have become a regular customer in the Museum Store. The reasons are many. First, it is convenient. I just walk from my office and through the lobby. Second, the Store carries all the items I look for when I am a tourist in other museums. I can purchase books of fiction and nonfiction about Montana, Native American arts and crafts, special retail products found only there, and souvenir postcards. If I am lucky, I might find something for my not-easy-to-shop-for wife, like that denim shirt with the logo of the Society, or maybe that silk bandana. Third, I know that I am supporting the entire Montana Historical Society, all its programs and projects, when I choose to be a customer in the Museum Store.
