National History Day

Through
hands-on experiences offered by participating in National History Day,
today's youth are better able to inform the present and shape the future.
NHD inspires children through exciting competitions and transforms teaching
through project-based curriculum and instruction.
Montana's participation in National History Day is spearheaded by Montana
State University--Billings. For more information on joining in on the
excitement, contact Dr. Thomas C. Rust at 406-657-2903 or

Often, the strongest History Day projects are those that apply the national
theme to local and regional topics, and utilize primary resources to which
students have access.
Staff at the Montana Historical Society have compiled
a list of some Montana topics relating to this year's theme (along with
research leads for investigating these topics).
