Montana: Stories of the Land Companion Website and
Teacher’s Guide Professional Development Training (One OPI

one-hour training will introduce you to resources designed to enrich
your Montana history class. It focuses primarily on resources
available through the Montana: Stories of the Land Companion
Website. At the end of the training, there is an opportunity to take
a brief quiz. Those completing it successfully will be eligible to

the Library of Congress. Then take a brief quiz. Those completing it

Supporting Inquiry with Primary Sources
Teachers and students demonstrate how primary sources can be used to
support inquiry learning. Inquiry encourages students to draw on
their prior knowledge, personal experiences and critical thinking
skills to construct meaning. Participate in the training and then
take the quiz. Those completing it successfully will be eligible to
receive one OPI Renewal Unit.

Copyright and Primary Sources
Learn how to evaluate primary sources from the Library's collections
for the best use within copyright. Listen to several teachers as
they evaluate the use of primary sources for use with their
students. Watch the training and then take the quiz. Those

Renewal Unit.

Analyzing Primary Sources: Photographs and Prints
Learn how photographs and prints from the Library's collections can
increase student engagement in the classroom. During the training,
there will be an opportunity to complete and make a copy of a Print
Analysis Exercise. To receive one OPI Renewal Unit, send your
completed Exercise, along with a copy of the Certificate of
