Find out how you can use historic places to reveal hidden history and spark your students' interest. Discover resources to help you engage your students in researching the history and architecture in your own community and learn how - and why - other teachers have incorporated local history research into their classrooms. National History Day: Invigorating History Education Sponsored by the Montana Association of REALTORS® Helena, June 24-25, 2010 This workshop will provide middle and high school teachers with tools to stimulate and motivate the learning process though the National History Day (NHD) approach to inquiry and problem based learning. Participants will be exposed to the tools and resources available through NHD and the Montana Historical society to create age-appropriate lesson plans that promote a problem-based approach to learning American and world history. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops, as they will also research and create their own version of a NHD project using the resources of the Montana Historical Society. Limit: 18 participants |
