QUILTS AND NATIVE AMERICAN PORTRAITS
GRAND OPENING BIG SUCCESS
More than 200 people attended the grand opening of the Society's two new exhibits, "Traditions in Comfort: Montana's Quilting Heritage," and "Sitting Proudly, Indian Portraits of Joseph Scheuerle." Music, good food and great people made the night one to remember for museum-goers. Scheuerle's work hadn't been exhibited for many years, and his attention to detail and telling a story in art engaged those who attended. The beauty of the quilts made it hard for people to not touch or curl up in the exhibits, but "restraint" was shown by all. The exhibits will be up until next April.
