Interlibrary Loan

The following materials are available through Interlibrary Loan:

  • Newspaper microfilm.

  • Oral history tapes, excluding restricted-use tapes.

Orders must be submitted:

  • By a library.

  • At this time requests can only be submitted by mail or email. Please complete the ILL form (Word document) provided. If you cannot access this electronic document please submit your request using an ALA interlibrary loan form.

  • No faxed or phone orders will be accepted.

Policies:

  • The loan period is 30 days from the shipment date.

  • No renewals.

  • Interlibrary loan material is to be used in the borrowing library only.

  • Microfilm must be returned in a box (not a mailing envelope).

  • Shipments are restricted to 5 reels of microfilm or 5 oral history interviews (up to 10 audio tapes) or less per patron.

  • New shipments will not be sent until current shipment is returned.

Loan Fees:

(Please note, charges are an administrative fee only. Whether or not this fee is passed on to the patron is left to the discretion of the borrowing library.)

  • Montana libraries: Free

  • Out-of-state libraries: $10.00 loan fee per shipment (maximum 5 reels).

  • Out-of-country libraryies: $20.00 loan fee per shipment (maximum 5 reels--payable in U.S. funds).

  • Late fees: .50 cents per day per item

Payment

  • Prepayment is not required.

  • Charges will be invoiced and sent separately at time of shipment.
